Starting a Business Venture in Hawaii

The Hawaii Small Business Development Center is offering a seminar called "Starting a Venture in Hawaii" with the help of the Office of Continuing Education and Training at Maui Community College. This is a great opportunity to learn about starting your own business here in the islands. Not sure if you want a business? Think about it. Its a good idea for those who want financial independence and the ability to better handle the cost of living on Maui. That being said, running a business is a precarious undertaking if you don't know what you are doing. That's why we recommend taking this class.

You will get an overview on evaluating business ideas, resources, and issues specific to the island of Maui. The class will be taught by David Fisher, Maui's SBCD Director, who has an MBA and has taught this and other Maui Business classes for over sixteen years. You will recieve a sample business plan  and the booklet, "Starting a Business on Maui". It's a one-night meeting that will take place on November 13th from 5:30pm-9:30pm at Maui Community College in room 225 of the Laulima building. The cost is $23. You must register.
