Legal Advice for Small Businesses

In light of the recent economic uncertainties that have been rocking the economy, you may see your fair share of optimists and pessimists. The question seems to be, "When will the housing market recover?" not, "Will the housing market recover?" Although Hawaii is experiencing less of an impact than states like California, it's still a good idea to "get all your ducks in a row", so to speak. During times like these, everyone should be keeping their finances as airtight as possible. This is especially true in the case of small business owners, and even larger ones at this point. A few little mistakes can lead to big losses. With this in mind, it should be well worth your while to get a little extra training on handling your business.
The Maui County Business Resource Center will be holding a workshop on the 18th: "Making your Business 'Legit', Legal Advice for Small Businesses". This will help you learn how to manage and keep track of important legal issues like having bylaws and keeping minutes, The workshop will take place from noon to 1pm. Attourney and SCORE counselor Roya Deyhim and fellow attorney Shannon S. Imlay will present helpful information on new and growing business options. These are legal experts, so we strongly recommend attending. How often do you get free legal advice?
The workshop will be held at the Maui County Business Resource Center, across from IHOP at the Maui Mall. Call (808) 873-8247 or shoot an email to anna.ribucan@mauicounty.gov if you need additional information on this workshop.
