Lahaina may soon be 88 affordable housing units richer | | April 18, 2008 | | West Maui Land Company's proposed 16.6-acre Kahoma Residential Subdivision would boast 64 single family homes and lots, 25 multifamily units, and a community park in former sugar cane fields along the Kahoma Stream by 2010.
Habitat for Humanity, a self-help organization, would lay claim to 4 of the single family lots, while 24 single-family lots and the 25 multifamily units would fall under the jurisdiction of Lokahi Pacific to be developed as special needs accommodations. The remaining 35 single-family vacant lots would be lotteries.
Qualifying homebuyers must be at or below 160% of HUD income numbers.
