March 28, 2008 |  The state of Hawaii ranks in the Top Ten Healthiest States in America for 2007 and 2008, in multiple studies.
A report just published by CQ Press ranks Hawaii as the 8th healthiest state in 2008, based on 21 factors considered including health care providers, availability and affordability of insurance, and the population’s general health. This is up a notch from the 2007 report that placed Hawaii as the 9th healthiest state in the country.
In November 2007, the United Health Foundation's America's Health Rankings 2007 determined Hawaii the third healthiest state in the country as defined by the World Health Organization: "a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity."
